BENIDORM IN MOTION

March has arrived, and with it, mobility measures and opening hours have been made more flexible throughout the Valencian Community, while other security measures continue to be maintained, which we cited in the previous post.

As of last Monday, March 1st, children's play areas and bio-healthy areas such as parks and green areas of the city have been reopened. At the same time, sports activities have been resumed in municipal outdoor facilities, but with certain limitations, being able to do sports individually or in pairs, with a maximum of 4 people and always maintaining a safe distance and with one monitor per group.

The athletics, racquetball, tennis, paddle tennis and petanque courts have been reopened in the 'Ciudad Deportiva Guillermo Amor' and in the 'Palacio de Deportes de l'Illa de Benidorm'.

The terraces in Benidorm have finally been reopened.

The terrace service has also been reopened in the hotel and restaurant businesses in Benidorm, pending the reactivation of tourism. According to official data, Benidorm is the second town with the most restaurants in the Costa Blanca province, with 632 establishments.

For its part, and in view of the arrival of the spring season and 'Holy Week', the Benidorm City Council has begun to prepare its beaches, with the "subdivision" of them, with spaces of 16 square meters (4x4 meters ) to ensure physical distancing and compliance with sanitary measures; an increase in the surveillance and rescue service made up of a maximum of 19 personnel and which includes a boat and ambulance; a reinforcement of cleaning services at the foot of the beach and coves in split shifts, complementing the usual night service; and the opening of the accessible beach points of Elche Park and Murcia Street from 10.30 am to 2.30 pm. Cleaning services are expected to increase during the days of greatest influx of users, such as the holiday period of 'Easter'.

Benidorm's beach is once again subdivided into "plots" in view of this spring.

This protocol is the same one that was already implemented last summer with excellent results, with the difference that these months no quadrant will be allocated to rental hammocks since the service has been suspended at least until May. Therefore, around 6,000 plots of 4x4 meters will be divided into which four people can be, five in the event that there is a minor.

The situation of the municipal market has also been addressed. It has been decided that “the street market will reopen its doors to 50% this Wednesday, the 3rd, starting this first day with the even-numbered food and textile stops, and taking turns every week.

Benidorm's Poniente beach "parceled out" last year.

Without a doubt, there is room for hope of being able to enjoy Benidorm in all its splendor very soon.
